Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing
The official journal title is The Korean Fashion and Textile Research Journal. The abbreviated form is KFTRJ.
KFTRJ was established in 1999. Initially, the journal was named the “Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing Industry.” In the year 2023, the journal name was changed to “The Korean Fashion and Textile Research Journal.” This journal focuses on publishing papers that pertain to novel ideas for the research topics and are associated with the textile and fashion industry. The main focus is the Korean fashion and textile industry, and topics are extended to global issues that significantly affect the Korean industry.
The official journal website is https://www.kftrj.org. The Korean Fashion and Textile Research Journal (KFTRJ) manages the website of the journal and provides a description of the professional and ethical standards on the website.
KFTRJ is the official journal of The Society of Fashion & Textile Industry (http://www.sfti.or.kr/).
KFTRJ includes publications pertaining to industrial applications and reviews associated with the theoretical or aesthetical aspects of clothing studies as well as new research that significantly affect the field of fashion design, costume history, fashion marketing, clothing construction, beauty, and textile science. The objective of the journal is to contribute professionally to the progress of scholarly research and, eventually, the development of the clothing industry. Hence, KFTRJ aims to (i) improve the value of research pertaining to the fashion and textile industry in Korea, (ii) contribute to the solid foundation and practical application in fashion and textile-related academic fields, and (iii) continuously contribute to the development of the Korean fashion and textile industry. The main focus of the journal is the Korean fashion and textile industry, and topics are extended to global issues that affect the Korean industry.
Some, or all, of the articles in this journal are indexed in DOI/Crossref, Google Scholar, and Korea Citation Index (KCI). The 2022 KCI IF (released in 2023. July) was the highest among the journals in the related field, so the KFTRJ is growing into a representative journal in the Korean textile and fashion industry. Full text of the Journal is available in http://www.sfti.or.kr/ and http://www.kisti.re.kr.

KFTRJ uses the Open Access Publishing model, in which all published articles are available for free to readers directly from the journal's website. However, this publishing model is based on the author fees.
One of the main authors (first or corresponding author) of manuscript should be the member of The Society of Fashion and Textile Industry (SFTI). The submission fee is 90,000 KRW per paper, and the author is responsible for an additional publication fee of 180,000 KRW for up to 12 pages and 30,000 KRW per page for pages exceeding 12. The submission and publication fees must be remitted to the author's bank account upon confirmation of publication (Nonghyup Bank: 351-0482-8719-53). For rushed papers, the total publication fee is double the standard publication fee. The SFTI routinely waive charges for authors from low-income countries. For other countries, article-processing charge waivers or discounts are granted on a case-by-case basis to authors with insufficient funds. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process.
