Aims and Scope

KFTRJ is the official journal of The Society of Fashion & Textile Industry (http://www.sfti.or.kr).

KFTRJ includes publications pertaining to industrial applications and reviews associated with the theoretical or aesthetical aspects of clothing studies as well as new research that significantly affect the field of fashion design, costume history, fashion marketing, clothing construction, beauty, and textile science. The objective of the journal is to contribute professionally to the progress of scholarly research and, eventually, the development of the clothing industry. Hence, KFTRJ aims to (i) improve the value of research pertaining to the fashion and textile industry in Korea, (ii) contribute to the solid foundation and practical application in fashion and textile-related academic fields, and (iii) continuously contribute to the development of the Korean fashion and textile industry. The main focus of the journal is the Korean fashion and textile industry, and topics are extended to global issues that affect the Korean industry.

Some, or all, of the articles in this journal are indexed in DOI/Crossref, Google Scholar, and Korea Citation Index (KCI). The 2022 KCI IF (released in 2023. July) was the highest among the journals in the related field, so the KFTRJ is growing into a representative journal in the Korean textile and fashion industry. KFTRJ publishes articles in the following areas:

• • Clothing construction: Technical construction of clothing patterns; apparel manufacturing process; pattern CAD; 3D clothing simulation; smart and functional clothing
• • Fashion marketing: Digital media and fashion communication; fashion merchandising; fashion retailing; textile industry; beauty and fashion business; social psychology of fashion; fashion consumer behaviors
• • Fashion design: Fashion and textile design; fashion trend analysis; fashion theory, aesthetics and practice; functional and creative fashion design; fashion design education
• • History of fashion: History of costumes or traditional dress; historical, cultural, and esthetic aspects of costume; practical and theoretical aspects of traditional costume.
• • Beauty & cosmetology: Beauty culture & history, hair beauty, skin care, make up, nail art; cosmetic theory; beauty industry; beauty service; beauty design; beautuy trend analysis; beauty marketing; beauty consumer behaviors; beauty psychology; beauty aesthetics; beauty education

The Korean Fashion and Textile Research Journal shall publish and edit the following contents.

1. 1. Research manuscripts : This form of publication represents original research Manuscripts that meet the scope of the KFTRJ.
2. 2. Reviews : Invited or submitted papers are accepted.
3. 3. News and reports : Short reports on the academic activities of SFTI.
4. 4. Communications : Research presented at conferences or special lectures hosted by the SFTI.
